Vision correction: There are constant improvements in eyeglasses and contacts. Laser vision correction now is in its fourth (and excellent) generation. Newer medications and surgical techniques now can help those with eye disease. If you have a problem, consult with your ophthalmologist.

Advances in vision: New methods of vision correction include lasik, femto laser cataract surgery, and glasses with bifocal components that can be switched on and off. Retinal implants now restore partial sight to blind people. Stem cell transplants may one day restore vision for people with inherited retinal diseases or macular degeneration.
