A member asked:

Can persistent tonsil ulcers be harmful?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: An ulceration of the tonsillar tissue probably indicates chronic inflammation. The tonsillar tissue is lined with squamous epithelium and covers abundant lymphoid tissue. If you are a non-smoker, the presence of these defects is probably not significant. But I would recommend you consult an ENT doctor for a more specific diagnosis.
