Why did you stop: The first question is why did you stop. Methotrexate does not cure the psoriasis. It would help to discuss this with your physician. There are other alternatives including oral pill Otezla which is for psoriatic arthritis but soon will be indicated injections like Enbrel, (etanercept) Humira, etc also these are for Psoriatic Arthritis. and injections like stelera and Intravenous biologics like Remicad

Why did you stop?: MTX is a very good treatment for Psoriasis. If you had good response to it you should resume it. Please follow up with your Dermatologist for the same. Unless you had side effects, then there are other options.

Psoriasis: It sounds like the methotrexate was working for your psoriasis and since you have not been taking it, the psoriasis flares are worse. There are other treatments available for psoriaias that you should discuss with your doctor.
