Female puberty: As in boys, one of the first signs of puberty is body odor. The development of the hourglass body configuration also starts at the same time. Then comes breast enlargement. Appearance of axillary and pubic hair follows later. After about 1 to 2 years into puberty, the first menstrual period arrives. After a few more years of physical and psychological changes, a lady is born.
