Elevated B12.: If no B12 intake, following conditions may be associated with elevated B12 level. But I must emphasize that B12 level itself is neither sensitive nor specific. You just neet to see your doc for looking into it. 1. Chronic liver dz/cirrhosis 2. Renal failure 3. SLE/RA, etc 4. Bone marrow disorder (CML, PV, etc) 5. Other rare conditions Obese linked to low B12 level.

Hardworking stomach!: Our stomach makes a protein, called Intrinsic Factor, that binds Vitamin B12 so we can absorb it (we can't absorb it without that factor). Some people can make more, or absorb the complex better. Since it is a B vitamin, unused amounts are excreted in your urine; a high level is not dangerous nor a sign of disease. It is rarely seen with liver disease, leukemia, obesity, diabetes. Get checked!
