Cysts may cause pain: The size of cysts is not mentioned. Small cysts generally cause no pain. You do not mention if your appendix was inflamed, normal, ruptured, or if you had an abscess. You also do not mention if you have fever. If you had an abscess or have fever, see your doctor right away. Cysts are not usually associated with heavy periods, and seeing an OB/GYN might be useful after ultrasound. Good Luck!
