If having strep throat caused my gums to get infected, will it go away when the strep goes away?

Probably not: Streptococcal infections of gingiva are seen very rarely, although it can occur with other inflammatory diseases like throat inflammations. You should see a dentist, to examine for possible pre-existing periodontal disease that may require specific treatment, besides the routine antibiotics for strep. tonsillitis.
