A member asked:

What is a sign that you need surgery with scoliosis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Surgery for symptoms: Scoliosis is an often benign curvature of the back. However, when the curvature is enough to cause chronic back pain that does not respond to medications or physical therapy, then you are looking at a constant problem that needs a physical (i.e. internal/invasive) solution.
