Should my dr proactively monitor size/location of fibroid? last ultrasound was 16 wks = 8x9cm. only asks that i tell her if i experience pain/problems

Good MD advice: If you were attempting pregnancy or having pain/bleeding problems then it would be prudent to Rx the fibroids. A checkup by the M for asymptomatic fibroids is optional.

Wouldn't hurt...: Yes, a good practice would be to periodically see if the size is getting out of hand,er, uterus--and especially if you start getting persistent pain or spotting/bleeding. You are a fair distance from using the fan for the flushes, if you know what I mean, so it has a lot of time to grow.
