Gynecologist: PCOS is a hormonal disorder that may make it difficult to lose weight as well as conceive until treated. PCOS treatment generally focuses on management of your main concerns, such as infertility, hirsutism, acne or obesity. Suggest you see a gynecologist for guidance. Given higher risk for diabetes in those with PCOS, reducing your sugar intake may be a helpful adjunct to any weight loss efforts.

Fertility 2 strikes: Your PCIS and age of 38 are "two strikes" against spontaneous ovulation of any kind. A fertility (GYN) MD can offer ovulation induction agents and Rx the PCOS if desired. Definitely make that office appointment before your reproductive capacity "strikes out".

Fertility Specialist: Is needed in this case as well as the guidance of a skilled general physician or an endocrinologist who specializes in PCOS. Managing stress is key, as is restful sleep. First, have you been prescribed metformin?Second, what are you doing to lose weight? Regular exercise is critical. Work with a nutritionist. Avoid all soda, including diet. Water aerobics will prevent joint pain. Best wishes!
