I have sore throat and ear pain on and off for a couple months. recently i feel painful when swallowing in throat and also pain in post-nasal.

Post nasal drip?: If you suffer of on and off post nasal drip which could be caused for example by allergies or chronic sinusitis this could be the reason for your symptoms.If you are having itching, sneezing as well I would recommend taking OTC antihistaminic meds like Benadryl (diphenhydramine) or Claritin in order to treat symptoms. You may try saline nasal drops as well.

Months: If your symptoms are on and off for months you may have sinusitis - either from infection, irritants or allergens. Try using nasal saline (basically salt water) 8-10 times a day for a week or so and see if the symptoms improve or resolve completely. If not or if symptoms worsen it will be time to be evaluated by MD.
