Biopsy: well this was disappointing. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19072441 there's a lot of antibody tests. If they are all low or zero level it makes it pretty unlikely. Even a better test if you find something likely to be the cause and fix it.... then that's the answer (hep c, drug associated, heart failure, etc.) Otherwise the only test that can mostly give fairly strong results is liver biopsy.
