Clean living: Thyroid surgery may not definitively cause you any problems getting pregnant. Start eating healthy, stop smoking and drinking alcohol when you want to start getting pregnant, and you should start a prenatal vitamin as well. Then plan on having sex often at the time of ovulation to increase your chances. Best wishes.

Yes: Childbearing age women can get pregnant after thyroid surgery provided that their thyroid hormone levels are adequately replaced. Hypothyroidism can decrease success rate. Also, your thyroid hormone replacement dosage will likely increase after pregnancy (on avg. by 30-50%). Need close monitoring & notify your endocrinologist of your family plans & right away when you find out you are preg
