Cockroach? Bed Bugs?: How do you know it is not bed bugs? Bed bugs usually bite in groups of 3. Happen at night. Look alot like mosquito bites. Live in creases in sides of mattress and/or curtains where you might see actual bugs or dark droppings. Worth a check since getting rid of them is a challenge. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) pills can be helpful for symptoms.

Less likely but: Where you live may be other forms of insects. Cockroaches eat what they can as foragers and if there isn't enough food for them, they can turn to humans for alternative food sources. More frequently, insects such as bedbugs, fleas, mosquitoes, ants, flies can bite and leave marks. Very importantly, any type of skin breakage needs to be cleansed and treated to prevent infection.

Sorry to hear: infection is uncommon from bug bites in general. Allergic response to the bite is more common, A steroid creme is helpful but takes most of 24 hrs to fully kick in. Antihistamine creme mmight do a little.

Consider other bugs: Cockroaches can bite humans but so do fleas and bedbugs. You need to find out what type of bugs you have and try to get rid of them. Keep the skin where you have bites clean and dry. You can use over the counter hydrocortisone cream if they are itchy but do not use it on you face or for more than 2 weeks. If you see signs of infection (extreme redness, pus) see your doctor. Photo= cockroach bites

Hydrocortisone 1%: If this is an inflammatory rash from insect bites then 1% hydrocortisone might be helpful. If not improving with using that twice a day then consult a doctor

Neosporine: you may use neosporine cream, Bacitracin or triple antibiotic cream or ointment. You may also use benadryl (diphenhydramine) tablet or gel
