Dr. Eric Weisman answered

Specializes in Neurology

Symptoms ?: Young man with Neuropathy, low Hb need for endoscopic exam (abdominal pain?) and a trip to psych floor. Put it all together into one diagnosis you have: AIP ( Acute intermittent porphyria ) Check urine for Delta amino levulonic acid, HVA and porphyrobilinogen. If negative you have more than one disorder.
