Not Sure: Not sure i understand the question. A HGB of 10 does not necessarily need transfusion. Unless you have ongoing blood loss or symptoms related to a low hgb, i would suggest no transfusion. Do you need to be worried with transfusion? Not generally, but if you can avoid it it is a good idea.

No: The blood bank is run by pathologists and we're the only business people in a community who do everything we can to diminish the demand for our product. You need to find the cause of your anemia with your physician, as it often warns of serious disease. It's foolish to transfuse unless the person is severely symptomatic from the anemia and likely to benefit from the transfusion.

Not necessarily: There is more to needing a blood transfusion than just the HGB level. The cause of low HGB is most mportant as well as the rate of decline. More information would be needed to address your particular problem.
