Painful nasal infect: Please be sure to use salt water sprays and/or nettie pot treatment to help sinus drainage. You should feel better in the next 3 days if you maintain proper care.

Usually in 24-72 hrs: If the infection is sensitive to the antibiotic you shoul start feeling better in the next 24-72 hours.

Very soon: It takes 1-2 days for antibiotics to begin to provide relief of symptoms due to infection. That is if you have the right antibiotics(which is not always the case)..

Abx alone? Few days: But why wait on the antibiotic alone? Nasal decongestant spray (like Afrin) can help reduce swelling and relieve pressure-pain temporarily and rapidly. Use 2-3x/day (read label), and not for more than 4-5 days--which should be all needed.
