Train and rest: There are many good training schedules on line. You should be gradually increasing your distance with one long run, 1-2 short runs with intervals and one medium long one/week. Very important to cross-train with biking, swimming, anything other than running. Also give your muscles a day or two off from running each week. If you are experiencing pain consult your doctor. Eat well and sleep!Good luck

Coach, club: Get some local advice from a coach and running club members. Also, go to Runners World to see some training plans and compare to yours. Many great books to learn from. Runner's World book on marathon and half marathon training is excellent and cheap on amazon. Assess your goal -- Finish or finish as fast as you can. Big difference. Rest is critical, do not overtrain, taper last 7-10days. Good Luck
