Sore throat & HIV: Do you know for certain that your partner was HIV+? Although any viral infection can present with general malaise, fever, muscle soreness; it would be very unusual for an acute HIV infection to just present with sore throat. The sore throat can be from due to a number of etiologies. You did the right thing by getting tested. Now just discuss results with your doctor and adopt safer sex practices.
