Been prescribed cefalexin and amoxicilin for my sinusitis and ear infection. do these work well together? it doesn't seem like a usual prescription.

Somewhat: Usually both aren't prescribed at the same time, but your physician may have a good reason for doing it that I'm not aware of.

Combination antibiot: This is an interesting combination of antibiotics for a sinus infection and ear infection. They do work ok together, though cefalexin is better for skin infections. Amoxicillin is the first choice for ear infections. I would treat a sinus infection with Augmentin, (amoxicillin and clavulanate) which is a combination of Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid. This combination covers resistant staph and has good sinus penetration,

No: These are a cephalosporin and a penicllin. It is debateable that antibiotics really offer any benefi tin the treatment of acute sinusitis, however; the perfered agent is amoxicllin or amoxicillin with calvulinate. The additon of gram positive coverage with keflex really dos enot add any value in the treatment of sinusitis.
