Probably bruising: When skin gets injured and swells small blood vessels often leak some blood into the tissues causing a bruise. The yellow, green and purple colors that you sometimes see as a bruise is healing are normal and result from the hemoglobin in the blood breaking down. These breakdown products will be absorbed by the body and color should return to normal in 1-2 weeks. If not see your doctor.
