Splint and ice: Carpal tunnel is a syndrome where a nerve to the hand (median) gets excess pressure on it causing pain and tingling. The best nonsurgical treatments for this are wearing a carpal tunnel splint (picture) whenever possible and applying ice in the palm just below the wrist. Motrin or Aleve (naproxen) may also help decrease the inflammation if you are able to take them safely (check with your doctor).
