No: That is expected. Your blood sugar should go up after eating. Generally, it shouldn't go way above 200 after eating though. So, you're doing fine if that reading is consistent after meals.

Could be: First of all, you are NOT a "diabetic." You have diabetes. Next, I do not know how old you are or what meds you are taking. Also, don't know if you have diabetes related complications such as hypoglycemia and heart disease. We try to keep the 2 hour after eating blood glucose levels below 140 mg/dL if possible. Some believe that less than 180 is also OK. Ask your doctor for clarification.

Not optimal but: not terrible if you tested 2 hours after a meal, but it is a little on the high side. the most effective way to strictly control the blood sugar is insulin but since you are only on metformin your doctor can consider adding other agents. have your doctor check a hemoglobin A1c to determine how well your average blood sugar is and keep a log of your blood sugar checks and bring in for review.

It isn't ideal: (although what that means is changing !). perfect normal is about 90-100. Higher than 250 will generally when people start having symptoms (urination frequency, thirst) higher than 500 can lead to coma ! Closer to normal is associated with fewer diabetic problems over the decades. Without an actual examination, I cannot give specific medical advice on your particular health,
