Boil: It sounds like this was an abscess that drained and nw is blood probably mixed with some fluid. Clean it well with peroxide and put some bacitracin or neosporin on it. Sounds like your pediatrician should evaluate it.

See physician: Boils can certainly bleed, but it sounds like this one needs to be checked in person by a doctor. Apply pressure directly to the area for 30 minutes or so. If the bleeding continues, go to the ER or urgent care. Otherwise, have your doctor check it early this week.
