Oral hygiene: The first place to start would be to check oral hygiene. Does she have dentures, if yes, a thorough cleaning may solve the issue. If she had her natural teeth, start with a visit to the dentist. If oral hygiene does not solve the issue, it would require an in-person evaluation by your doctor.

Bad breath: Halitosis, bad breath is caused by poor dental health, tooth decay and may be a sign of other systemic health problems. Also the type of food you eat or other factors like smoking can effect your breath. Rec.: see a dentist to determine the cause of the problem and proper treatment.
