Irregular cycles: It's common to have irregular cycles with PCOS. It is important that your cycles are regulated. If you are not wanting pregnancy, birth control pills will regulate you. If you are wanting pregnancy, you need to talk to your MD about ovulation induction. If the irregular (anovulatory) bleeding goes on for several years, it increases your risk of endometrial cancer.

PCOS: "Periods" with PCOS are infrequently regular. Bleeding can occur at any time, but pregnancy is possible occasionally, so first get a serum test for pregnancy. If positive see your healthcare professional for advice and further testing.
