Not related?: Did she get the chickenpox vaccine? Normally a reaction to the chickenpox vaccine does not occur until around 5 days after the injection. She may have been in contact with somebody with chickenpox from 1 week to 3 weeks before the rash, and the rash should be gone in a week or so, with may be some scabs left. the rash you describe is from something else.
