Likely: Rule #1 following ANY surgery: when you have ANY questions, call your surgeon. He/she WANTS to know how you are doing and will be very willing to answer your questions. The ringing immediately postop is likely due to fluid/blood in the middle ear and will most likely resolve. The cleft palate/lip history will not affect the tympanoplasty success rate.

Previous unilateral tympanoplasty with occicular repair 14 years ago. pain inside ear when touching the tragus or crus helix also causing itch in throat. Have been on 2 rounds of antibiotics. No constant pain. What could be the cause?
