A member asked:

Following combined approach tympanoplasty i have a constant ringing and buzzing in my ear, also i was born with a celf palate/lip, will the graft heal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Likely: Rule #1 following ANY surgery: when you have ANY questions, call your surgeon. He/she WANTS to know how you are doing and will be very willing to answer your questions. The ringing immediately postop is likely due to fluid/blood in the middle ear and will most likely resolve. The cleft palate/lip history will not affect the tympanoplasty success rate.
