Need evaluation: Occasionally muscular pain may be obvious on evaluation in office and may not need further testing and just needs explanation and reassurance. If the additional history and examination suggests complications X-ray should be done to evaluate for degenerative arthritis, bone fracture, osteoporosis etc. Specialist consult is needed if the symptoms suggest disc disease or neuro-foraminal disease.

It depends: Back pain can be difficult to diagnose, however no specific test is specific enough to get to the true cause of the symptoms. Your symptoms and the timing of the injury tell the most about the cause of the pain. You probably are and will be ok, however if it will ease your mind, a second opinion wouldn't hurt.

MAy need to see: How long you have pain? if you have pain for more than few week, tingling or numbness and pain is getting worse then you may need MRI. Also try OTC pain meds and heating pad. Stretching exercise may help.
