Monitor for infectio: Using an IUD especially with hormones on it will cause irregular periods or skipped periods or slight spotting. You can also skip periods and even after it is removed you can skip a few periods. The smell is either from the old blood in vagina or could be infection. Watch for increased discharge or increased pain if so you need to be checked out
