Don't count on it!: At 5 years and 4 months, your Mirena (levonorgestrel) is probably still secreting enough hormone to affect your periods but not enough to keep you from getting pregnant. I wouldn't count on it protecting you from pregnancy. If you like it, you can have it removed and another one put in. Best wishes!
