Is it extremely painful right after an abdominal hystorectomy? i am scheduled to have one next month. i know the recovery time is quite long too.

Surgery: You know this is a major surgery and their will be pain associated with it. However, you will be given treatments to mitigate the pain. They likely will give you an injection in your back( while you are asleep) that will make it almost pain free for 24+ hours. Then you will be given pain meds to make you comfortable both in and out of the hospital. Best wishes. you can do it!
