Yes, the density: Of the bone could be evaluated it would be washed out. I would have your vitamin D levels checked.

Standard X-rays : are unreliable for diagnosing osteoporosis. X-rays can only detect severe bone density loss. DEXA scan would be much more accurate if osteoporosis is suspected.
