This is normal: The best treatment is a non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug. Over the counter drugs such as Aleve (naproxen) work well, but the dose needs to be higher than on the directions. 500 mg Naproxen twice a day should help the pain. If Naproxen does not help, then 2,400 mg ibuprofen would be acceptable. Ponstel is a prescription drug that can also help.
