Dear doc my hbsag test result is negative 6,7,8,10 months after potential exposure is this mean i am free from hep b? am i fine? i have heard hep b core test, should i run another test? im very scared please help doc?

You have been over tested. Your negative test at 6 months proves you do not have active hepatitis B and were not infected during the exposure you are concerned about. However, additional tests (HBcAb, HBsAb) can give additional information, such as whether you were infected in the past and the infection is now gone; or if you were vaccinated against hepatitis B. Discuss with a doctor.
