Who is at risk for color blindness?

Males: Color blindness is most commonly a genetic condition. It is usually sex linked, and more common in males. Therefore males with a family history of color blindness would be at higher risk.

Mostly men: Color blindness is inherited. It occurs in about 6-8% of males and about 1/2% of females. You are at risk if you have it in your family history or in siblings. There is no cure, and it has occupational significance. It does not affect the health of the eyes.
