A 40-year-old member asked:

Could blind people have visual dreams?

Dr. Richard Bensinger
Ophthalmology 54 years experience
Depends: If the blindness is from birth or very early age so that visual patterns are not imprinted on the brain, then dreams will not be visual. If blindness occurs later in life after vision has been established, then visual dreams can occur.
Created for people with ongoing healthcare needs but benefits everyone.
