I am 58 had an echo done it states - diastolic filling indicates impaired relaxation. left atrium moderately dilated. 40% blockage in lad. bad?

Doable!: This is doable! Diastolic dysfunction implies that the heart muscle is stiffer than normal. This can lead to a sense of breathlessness but is very common and manageable. The left atrium enlargement goes with diastolic dysfunction or hypertension and is also not a big problem. The 40% blockage is deemed mild and shouldn't cause symptoms. Watching your cholesterol and your BP should keep in check

You may: need to see a cardiologist. If you have blockage in the LAD with symptoms of chest discomfort, you may nee to undergo a left heart cathetherization. If the have not done a stress test yet. Have that done so that they can see the degree of stenosis in the other vessels
