What is a complicated cystic ovarian lesion and what are its risks?

Many things: Melanie, a complex ovarian cyst could be many things. Most likely, it is a hemorrhagic cyst (a cyst that bled). Other possibilities could be an infection, or far less likely an ovarian tumor (these are rare). I'm sure your doctor recommended follow up scans, so just follow up as they recommend. If you develop worsening or changing symptoms, call them and let them know. Hope this helps!
