A member asked:

Will chronic straining / increased intra-abdominal pressure cause the colon veins to become enlarged the same way it causes hemorrhoids?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: The anatomy of the internal veins and the hemorrhoid veins is different. But the colon can become enlarged and distended and sluggish, and colon diverticulosis can occur instead.
