Eval Needed: Sleep apnea is a very common cause of middle insomnia (awakening in the middle of the night). It can be accompanied by obesity and snoring, although thin people can suffer from it as well. There are other causes. Being tired during the day indicates non-refreshing sleep, and requires an evaluation first by your primary physician, and then if needed with a sleep study and specialist referral.

INSOMNIA: Getting a good night's sleep is very important for physical and mental health. Insomnia might be due to several different reasons. First have a complete physical exam by a Dr. to rule out an underlying biological problem. If no problem consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy that helps you change and benefit from medication prescribed by a Psychiatrist.
