Either is OK: Drinking water with or without food is OK. JUst take time to swallow

When to drink water?: The best benefit is drinking water about 30 minutes before you eat and 30 minutes after a meal. Of course, drinking water during a meal would be more beneficial than not drinking while eating, but in small quantities.
