Variable: The longer you have diabetes the greater the chances of developingpdn. The fact that you have gone 5 years is great, i assume you have type 2 dm. If you keep your sugars under good control with diest/exercise/medication you may never get neuropathy.

Times vary.: Everyone is different. Neuropathy may develop quickly or it may take years to develop depending on a variety of factors.
