Have you had: An MRI or other imaging that shows pathology to prove your point? Have you taken prescription doses of aleve (naproxen) or ibuprofen on a consistent basis? Have you had physical therapy and stuck with the exercise regimen? Have you seen a chiropractor?

Try alternatives: Doctors are hesitant to prescribed narcotics if we can not find a serious physical cause for the pain. Narcotics are best used for acute pain like broken bones. If you are 19 years old and have had back pain for 4 years and doctors can find no acute cause then I would suggest that you try physical therapy, yoga, acupuncture or other alternatives for relief, not pain medications.
