Neurologic abnormali: The EEG is an indirect means of assessing brain function and the MRI looks at anatomy but not function. These results are best interpreted by a NEUROLOGIST who would also perform a detailed examination

Need Neurology: An EEG can be abnormal for several reasons, not all of which are related to seizure activity. You see a neurologist to discuss these findings in more detail. If you do need seizure medication, an EMU is not required to start or adjust seizure medications.
