Ulcer: Upper endoscopy is much more exact as you have actual visualization of the gastric mucosa

EGD much better: though no ulcer will stay there for 6 years. you can have inflammation, and possibly ulcers at times - endoscopy and biopsy much better answer than UGI series. the latter will likely only pick up rather sizable ulcers.
