Response to DCs: Chiropractors can sometimes help by providing proper alignment for appropriate thyroid and immune function, however it is usually not curative but helpful. They may also add nutritional support which is always a good idea.

Chiro no help here: Hashimoto's disease is a thyroid disorder. At first, it causes too much thyroid hormone to be made. Later, it can lead to an inadequate amount of thyroid hormone. It respond's well to medication. Although chiropractic manipulation may be useful in some cases of back pain, it is worthless in the treatment of Hashimoto's disease.

Approach to disease: Chiropractors and many holistic practitioners look at the root causes of disease and try to change the course of the illness. They believe that the root cause can be changed. Hashimoto's is an autoimmune disease that can be triggered by gluten intolerance, leaky gut, infections, stress, etc. If those issues are addressed, then Hashimoto's can be reversed.
