Being studied: There is research ongoing to better understand the possible relationship. There seems to be some increased risk if you have one for the other. Study is focusing on hypothalamus function. Women w/ both may be given different treatment than either alone. So, not 'linked' but not entirely separate either. Discuss w/ your OBGYN for more help understanding it. I hope you can find help. Best!

Separate & unrelated: Hi. Hyperprolactinemia and PCOS are separate conditions and completely unrelated, although both will affect your periods and fertility. Hyperprolactinemia is usually due to a benign tumor in the pituitary, but can also be due to some medicines. Has your doctor recommended treatments for these conditions? Good luck!
