Usually inherited: The majority (if not all) hepatic hemangiomas are congenital or present at or near birth. However, it is certainly possible that certain medications could contribute to the growth of these benign blood vessel tumors.

No big deal: Actually, these are mostly random. One person in 100 has them. They're Gorbachev-type birthmarks though in the liver. Don't worry about it at all.
