Does omeprazole treat stomach ulcers ? and is it effective ?

Yes: Omeprazole is used to treat ulcers and is effective. Ulcers can reoccur however. There is a bacteria that is known to cause ulcers (H.pylorI). If you have that bacteria, then treating the bacteria with antibiotics can "cure" the ulcer and hopefully never return. You need to see your doctor to see if you have that bacteria and get it treated by antibiotics in addition to taking omeprazole.
